Sixteen of us, some Scribblers and some visitors, were able to enjoy a fabulous evening with Ruth.
For those Scribblers who couldn't make the evening - well, you missed a great time!
Ruth shared her writing journey with us, outlining the strange coincidences that led to the publication of her first novel, The James Version, then talking about the ups and downs of getting her subsequent novels into print.
She was encouraging and enthusiastic throughout the evening, and happily answered the many questions that were put to her during the second half of the evening when we all enjoyed much needed cool drinks, and the tasty chocolate biscuits provided by Mairead (who else?!). Thank you Mairead!
Dave has sent the group's thanks to Ruth already, but I'm sure the rest of us would like to say a further 'thank you' to her - and look forward to seeing her again next time she's in Felixstowe.
Our thanks must go to Jane for organising Ruth's attendance, and to everyone else who helped out in any way.
We had three visitors who were very interested in joining Scribblers - we look forward to seeing them in due course.
Our display boards: I f anyone knows of an organisation, shop or establishment where we can safely leave our display for say a week, then please let us know - it would be good to raise our profile further.
Next meeting on 21st July: We've had the luxury of two sessions without homework, but now it's down to business again, with a 1000 word piece with a geographical theme, topic or flavour of our individual choice.
