Next meeting and other info

Hi Scribblers,

That time is almost upon us once again. Our next meeting, a flash fiction evening, takes place in the Room at the Top this coming Tuesday 21st March. Start time is 7.30pm.

For this meeting, the subject for the Flash Fiction will be drawn out of the ‘bag’ so that everyone starts on a level playing field.

Cathy will be leading the meeting as I will be unable to attend but will be back the the next time.

Coming soon... the Felixstowe Book Festival. In preparation for the event we will be publishing a new anthology. Having met the printers we have agreed to have the prepared anthology passed to them on a memory stick by 1st June. Now that means an awful lot of work between now and then. We estimate the same basic size but probably with far less photographs this time round – there are only so many we can find!

What I am asking is that you select at least one but preferably two of your stories that you consider will be a great addition to the anthology – if last time is anything to go by then virtually anything you have written will be suitable. Please, though, try to edit your stories as best you can and then send them to me via scribblers.1@btinternet,com This email address comes directly to me so there will be no ‘spying eyes’ on your story until publication. As always the copyright of the work will remain with you.

Like last time consideration is being given to asking scribblers of old to help bolster the anthology. Their stories last time provided an excellent addition to our finished article.

We intend to market the book at £5 per copy once again and hopefully manage to sell out!

Talking of book festivals, throughout his month the Essex Book Festival is taking place and details of their remaining events can be found at https://btmail.bt.com/www.essexbookfestival.org.uk

Next Monday sees the next Ipswich Writers’ Cafe. This is on Monday 20th March
Starting at 7:30pm at La Tour Cycle Cafe on 17 Tower Street, Ipswich, Organiser Ed would love to see you attend.

Anne has kindly forwarded details of a competition to us and these are shown below.

Until next time,
Keep Scribbling!
Dave.
