Once again a very well attended meeting despite the continuing heatwave although a brief rumble of thunder and an even briefer downpour did little to cool things down.
With some thirteen, one thousand word stories to be shared, the evening was packed with a plethora of imagination and superb creativity that it was a shame the meeting had to end. I've been attending for more years than I will admit, but I cannot remember so many marvellous stories that are shared week in and week out.
The Scribblers have always been a fine band of writers, but with a thought for today, could the current group be the best?
Next meeting on 21st August will be the 1,000 word competition for the Jack Wilkinson Memorial Trophy. The competition, in memory of our youngest member, is to write a story for or about children. No names on your entries please. Hopefully we will have two 'volunteers' reading the stories out.
Don't forget the meeting is due to start at 7.30 when the door will be locked.
Until then,
Keep Scribbling!!!
