The Lost Sock

The crew and friends of the Lost Sock

The story behind 'The Lost Sock'.

At a community arts event organised and hosted by Felixstowe Scribblers in November 2004, Chris Gosling of the then fledgling Felixstowe TV suggested to Dave Feakes that 'we should make a multipart series, a kind of soap opera, running over five, five minute episodes...'

Of course someone had to write the script and the Scribblers rose to the challenge, each member of the group suggesting an idea or theme for the series.

Every idea was incorporated into the script which the four man team, of Ken May, Dick Bradshaw, Tony Shearman and Dave Feakes produced for Felixstowe TV to film. The five planned episodes gradually extended into eleven!

Local actors, businesses, a councillor, a BBC Radio Suffolk presenter, the Port of Felixstowe Ambulance Service, the Police, the Felixstowe Volunteer Coast Patrol Rescue Service and many, many others all gave their help and time freely and generously in real life locations including Landguard Fort.

The series was a tremendous success with millions of views world wide so Felixstowe TV provided a DVD and the full length film was premiered on the big screen at the Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe in July 2006.

Now sold out, the DVD is available for loan at our local Felixstowe Library.

Yes The Lost Sock was a real community success and the first and only full length feature film to be completely conceived, created, filmed and edited in Felixstowe using local actors, locations and extras!

Here is the cast and crew list along with all those good folks and organisations who helped! It's very long and very impressive!!!!
