We have heard news that Les was rushed to hospital on Tuesday and remains there at present. Please send out your thoughts to him. He's a lovely chap so, Les, get well soon mate!

Our next meeting is fast approaching and takes place on Tuesday 15th June at 7.30pm in the Room at the Top, Felixstowe Library. The theme for the homework assignment this time is "Absent Friends". Maximum word count of 1,000.

As you will know we held our committee meeting earlier this week and the news is that Barry will take over as secretary from the 15th. Welcome Barry and good luck! Committee decisions will be announced on Tuesday evening.

The Suffolk Book League is hosting the launch of the latest book, 'Across the Blood-Red Skies', by bestselling local author Robert Radcliffe; as Robert Mawson his novel 'Lazarus Child' was in all the headlines due to the size of the advance he was given. Robert will be talking about writing for publication - how he organises his work, how to be aware of what will appeal to agents and publishers. This takes place on Thursday 17 June 2010, Ipswich Insititute Tavern St 7.00 and is FREE. Scribblers are welcome to go along, have a glass of wine and see whether Robert has anything to say that could help you!

Another popular Writers Cafe takes place at 8.00pm on Monday 28th June in the Wicked Cafe in the UCS Waterfront Building in Ipswich.

Meanwhile, lets all send Les every good wish for a speedy recovery.
