The Bill Budner Trophy meeting

Previous holder Liliane Savaraj
presents the trophy
to Dave Feakes
An evening of top quality entries for the prestigious Bill Budner Trophy provided excellent entertainment for all present.

Two writers did not enter the competition, new member Angela, who was making her first visit and is associated with Felixstowe Radio, and Dick who has only just returned from a cruise on the Rhine.

Angela and Dick stole the limelight by volunteering to read out all the entries. And a superb job they did too!

The voting was close but the winner, for the third time, was our Chairman, Dave with his story "Then Darkness". Runner-up was Ray with Martin and Tony sharing third place.

We heard that Les had a fall yesterday and feels a little off colour so was unable to attend. We were also reminded about the Jack Wilkinson Memorial Walk that that takes place next Sunday - details in an earlier post. Also the possibility of the Scribblers sponsoring an event in next year's Book Festival. Watch this space!
