The Craft of Writing with Amanda Hodgkinson, author.

The Craft of Writing with Amanda Hodgkinson, author.
The UCS Writers’ Weekend:
Description:
10am - 1pm on Saturday 12th March 2016 in the Waterfront Building, room W217 University Campus Suffolk, Ipswich.

Writing fiction involves choices:

How do I tell this story?

Do I need one narrator or more?

As a writer, what differences do these choices make to the heart of my novel, for me and for the reader?

As well as being natural story tellers, writers need to master the craft of writing. In this workshop, we will look at some short texts, discussing how different writing techniques work. Through practical exercises, we will also look at different approaches to a single narrative, focussing on becoming more aware and confident of the skills we need to create the novels we really want to write.
