Wigtown Book Festival

Wigtown 'book tree'

Dear Festival Goer,

Welcome to July. We hope you're enjoying the fantastic weather we've been having. Work on the Festival programme is gathering pace with plans for it to be ready in early August. This month we have a sneak preview of authors who will be attending the Children's Festival, a call-out for exhibitors for The Autumn Kist and a range of opportunities for being part of the Festival.

We're very excited to be sharing some news with you about some returning authors to this year's Children's Festival. Philip Ardagh and Chae Strathie will be back in Wigtown to delight our younger visitors. Philip writes for the 7+ age group and is best known for his Eddie Dickens series. Younger readers will be familiar with Chae and his book, Jumblebum, which earlier this year won the Scottish Children's Book Award Bookbug Readers prize.
