Our next meeting

It’s a special meeting this coming Tuesday when we next meet. It’s the Jack Wilkinson Memorial Trophy when we remember our young friend Jack who passed away eight years ago. To those who knew him he was a very courteous and likeable young man who had a passion for writing poetry and creating graphics to go with his words. Most of all he was full of fun, a credit to the Scribblers as our youngest ever member and a credit to his parents.
The meeting takes place this Tuesday, 19th August in The Room at the Top starting at 7.30
The basic rules for the competition are shown at the top of the weblog but I reproduce them here anyway:
The competition is only open to attending members.

The entry should be no ore than 1,000 words long, written for children or a story about children perhaps included as integral characters.

Members will read out their own work and then vote for their favourite story of the evening.

When votes have been counted then the writer with the top marks will be awarded the trophy.
In the event of a tie then Caz will have the casting vote.

The trophy does not need engraving; instead the winner will receive a certificate for their achievement.

The Jack Wilkinson Memorial Trophy will be held twice yearly.

Winners must undertake to return the trophy at the next staging of the competition.
Caz also reminds us that Jack’s Memorial Walk will be held this year on Sunday September 28th and would love to see as many of you as possible, to raise some money for Cancer Research UK. There will be more information nearer the time but please ask for a Registration Form to help make life easier for the organisers, so they know roughly how many are attending.
Hope to see you at Tuesday’s meeting and listen to your lovely stories again,
Keep Scribbling,
