We had our meal at the Orwell as planned and it was an evening we almost all enjoyed. There was a hiccup with the meal orders which was not of our doing but it was righted without too much delay. There was plenty of chat and laughter through the evening with our friend Dick relaying many humorous memories of his days as a school teacher.
We also hear there is a possibility that one of our former members, Sue Smith, might rejoin the group after Easter. She is a children's poet who also wrote children's stories on our homework themes. She sends her wishes to all those who remember her.
Coming up this very Tuesday (7th March) is our next meeting when the theme for the evening is 'Coincidence'. Hopefully you will all manage to write up to 1,000 words on what could be a fascinating subject. The meeting starts at 7.30.
