Tonight's meeting of the Scribblers was not the best attended. Maybe it was the sudden burst of sunny weather to blame or the promise of a long awaited flaming June to come! There were apologies from three members for holiday, sickness and family duties, so maybe next time will see an improvement in numbers.
A welcome guest tonight was a photographer from the Suffolk Magazine who are doing a feature on the Scribblers in their August edition - on sale at the end of July.
Perhaps the stories were fewer today than usual but nonetheless they provided entertainment and plenty of discussion.
The evening was rounded off with the alarm activating when leaving the building... just another moment to keep us on our toes!
A reminder that the Felixstowe Book Festival is drawing close and our sponsored workshop takes place on Saturday 15th June in The Room at the Top, Felixstowe Library. The two hour workshop begins at 11.00am until 1pm. Our speaker is Cressida Downing who will provide a "Writers' & Artists' Yearbook guide to submitting your manuscript." The workshop is sold out but there is a waiting list in case of any cancellations prior to the event.
This precedes our next Scribblers meeting which will be on Tuesday 18th June at 7.30 pm when the homework assignment is a geographical one. Those absent tonight but would like a place to research and write on should contact Barry.
Finally, we are always on the look out for new members so if you are interested in coming along you can just turn up or get more details from our Secretary Barry or Chairperson Dave.
Until the next meeting...
Keep Scribbling!!!
