Meeting report

Minutes of Scribblers meeting held on Tuesday 1 March 2016

Present:  Dave, Liliane, Dick, Richard, Gerry, Marc, Cathy.

Apologies: Caz, Jeanette, Mairead, Jane, Carolyn, Beryl, Tony

Business:
Dave noted that a friend of Carolyn’s who’d considered joining Orwell Writers’ League is now more likely to join Scribblers, as evenings are better for her – this is good news.

Cathy had received an email from the library to say that the printed programmes for FBF are available at the library now, so on our way out most of us took one – good to see Dave’s excellent blurb against the Scribblers sessions.

Meeting:
Could this be the first time that apologies for absence exactly equal the number of members present at a meeting?!

Despite our low numbers, the meeting was enjoyable as usual. The homework theme of ‘Wine’ had inspired a great variety of stories.

Richard: A good night out
Marc: Wine
Dave: Fruit of the vine
Liliane: Planning the wedding
Gerry: A vintage year
Dick: A lucky find

Next meeting:    Tuesday 15 March. 1000 word stories beginning with the phrase (courtesy of Richard) – ‘On that particular Monday morning …’.
