Tonight's meeting...

Although there were a number of apologies due to illness and family commitments, we still had a healthy attendance for what turned out to be another excellent meeting.

It opened with a discussion about the Book Festival, the slot arranged to show The Lost Sock, on 28th June and the level of cost. One or two questions followed in respect of a new anthology, and copies, if possible, of the film.

Additionally there was a discussion on the Landguard event "Holding the Fort".

Mention was made of the eBooks available from Ray and Barry whilst Ally's book "Drift" can be read on the Swoon Reads website.

The best moment of the early part of the meeting was for Les to present Jane with The Bill Budner Trophy and also a decision on a replacement trophy - a new cup in the same style.

Two differences to the meeting were the introduction of names being drawn from the hat to establish the evening's reading order and an allotted minimum of two minutes feedback for each work. It seemed to work very well and added perhaps a little bit more interest to the meeting.

Ten stories and one poem... all great reads and worthy of air time on the radio...

The next meeting on February 18th alters slightly from the advertised programme and becomes a 1.000 word homework on any theme, perhaps an old favourite story of yours, maybe a poem or part of a longer piece of work. The choice is yours!

Until next time,

Keep Scribbling!!!
